Hello all and welcome! This site is the first of it’s kind in it’s attempt to provide a detailed, simple-use guide to grassland fungi identification. This purpose straightforward as information on the identification process for these fungi is well known. Unfortunately most fungal ID manuals do not categorize species based on ecology and habitat. When this is paired with the lack of association between fungal phylogenetics and fruit body shape or habitat, it makes the identification process somewhat tedious.

This site also aims to provide a thorough list of grassland fungi. This future ambition for the website is of great importance as a comprehensive list of what is present in our grasslands does not exist as of yet. The initial set of species described on this site are simply compiled based on personal and external observations. This is where the supplementary Facebook and Twitter forums come into play as this will hopefully provide a community based approach in providing an up to date taxon list.
